Un-opened tea buds and very tender first tea leaves are used to make these tea balls. Tea tips are generally considered to be of higher quality than other leaves of the tea plant as they have a higher concentration of flavor, vitamins, and minerals. Mixing flowers which contain medicinal and health benefits adds extra value to these tea balls.
